The Gale Encyclopedia of Public Health is an updated, alphabetically-arranged encyclopedia with entries pertaining to important public health concerns. Although aimed at the non-specialist interested in health and medicinal issues, there is a broad range of topics including environmental health, drug abuse, epidemiology, nutrition, demographics and diseases designed for academic students, professionals and general readers. Public health personnel concentrate on these topics which prevail in society and substantially affect the health of its people as a whole. Entries also include overviews, definitions and biographies.
