The Benedictine University Library will celebrate National Library Week from April 12th – April 18th. National Library Week is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April since 1958. This week honors the work of academic, public, school, and other libraries and promotes library use and support.
We invite all faculty, staff, and students to join us for the following events:
Food for Fines
Reduce your Benedictine University Library fines by donating canned goods and other non-perishable food items. For every non-perishable food item that you donate we will reduce your fines by $1, to a maximum of $20. Just bring your donations to the Circulation Desk located in the lower level of Kindlon Hall during library open hours. Food for fines applies to overdue/late fines and processing fees for lost materials returned to the Circulation Desk. Unfortunately, we cannot waive fines for lost materials, damaged, or interlibrary loaned materials. We also cannot refund fines that you have already paid. For more details, contact the Circulation Desk at (630) 829-6050 or circdesk@ben.edu.
Displays
Displays featuring staff reading recommendations, library history, and more will be on exhibit throughout all floors of the library.
Student Appreciation Day
On Thursday, April 16 from 11 - 1, students can visit the library main entrance for cookies and giveaways, as well as the chance to mingle with library staff.
