During National Library Week, April 11-15, reduce your Benedictine University Library fines by donating canned goods and other non-perishable food items on the Lisle campus. Here’s how it works:
For every non-perishable food item that you donate, we will reduce your fines by $1, to a maximum of $20. Just bring your donations to the Circulation Desk located in the lower level of Kindlon Hall during library hours. Food for fines applies to overdue/late fines and processing fees for lost materials returned to the Circulation Desk. Unfortunately, we cannot waive fines for lost materials, damaged, or interlibrary loaned materials. We also cannot refund fines that you have already paid.
Items that are particularly needed include:
Food donations must be non-perishable, unopened, unexpired, and undamaged. Please do not donate anything in glass containers.
Donated items will benefit the West Suburban Community Pantry.
To find out if you have library fines, check your I-Share account.
No fines but still want to donate? Great! Drop off your donations at the Circulation Desk.
Questions? Contact the Circulation Desk at (630) 829-6050 or circdesk@ben.edu.
