National Library Week, April 10-16

April 11, 2016

This week, the Benedictine University Library joins libraries in schools, campuses, and communities nationwide in celebrating the dynamic changes that are happening in today’s libraries. April 10-16 is National Library Week, a time to highlight the changing role of libraries, librarians and library workers.  National Library Week

On the Lisle campus, we’re celebrating by holding our annual week-long Food For Fines event. From April 11 through April 15, knock a few dollars off your library fines by donating non-perishable food items. Bring your donations to the Circulation Desk located in the lower level of Kindlon Hall during Library hours. Donations will benefit the West Suburban Community Pantry. Learn more >>

On the Springfield campus, we’re celebrating by holding a reception to mark the 50th anniversary of the Becker Library. Drop by Becker on April 13 between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. for some refreshments.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
