Utilizing marketing, creative and digital media knowledge and talents, Marketing and Communications helps our brand partners achieve their recruitment, retention, revenue and service goals. Implementing promotional strategy, communications opportunities and advertising programs, we further cultivate the Benedictine University brand resulting in University success.

MarCom manages a comprehensive Production Calendar that encompasses all brand partner work by initiative produced by MarCom. This includes:

  • Graphic design (fliers, brochures, posters, invitations, etc. and art for any of the below)
  • Advertising (contracting, design and placement for print, radio, outdoor and online)
  • Promotional items (pens, t-shirts, water bottles, etc.)
  • Signage (banners, A-frames, specialty signs, retractable shades, etc.)
  • Writing (proofreading, editing, etc.)
  • Press releases and media relations
  • Campus Notebook publicity
  • Closed-circuit TV slide publicity
  • Electronic sign publicity
  • Social media publicity (on BenU's Facebook and Twitter pages)
  • E-communications (mass email to 50 or more external email addresses)
  • Website event calendar listing
  • Web page (custom applications require external support)
  • Video/multimedia production (limited in-house capability; most projects require external support)
  • Photography (limited in-house capability; most projects require external support)

To have a project added to this production calendar, please use our project request form. New projects may require a meeting, depending on scope. Allow at least eight weeks for your new project to be fit into the production schedule.

If you have an initiative currently on our calendar, for appropriate planning and production, you will receive a Production Planning Reminder from the MarCom Project Coordinator 12 weeks prior to your initiative's completion date. Please open and read the information when you receive it. Proper planning is necessary to meet project needs.

This reminder provides you with the initial production timeline for your project and if not a new project, any historical project information we maintain in our records including a copy of the most recent previous version of your project. Please make note of the calendar and any University holidays or events that may impact the schedule.

Due to the number of current brand partners and projects MarCom supports, the production schedule requires a minimum of eight-weeks production time once MarCom receives all completed content/initiative details (including budget) and direction from you. Our marketing and communications expertise and BenU image/brand style combined with your vision will result in the successful completion of your initiative.

If you are unable to work within this production time and/or meet the established deadlines, MarCom will provide you a cost estimate to have the project externally produced with MarCom coordination. We also have flier and ecommunication templates available to you for last minute requests MarCom is unable to accommodate.

In addition to production duties, MarCom is a centralized creative force that works with the entire BenU community to develop new marketing campaigns and other University initiatives. We support every area at BenU and respecting these guidelines will allow us to provide our best to you and result in the best product for the University.
