International Transfer Students

Admissions Process and Requirements

Learn more below about application requirements for freshman admission, important deadlines, submitting your transcripts and English language proficiency. Any student who has completed a secondary degree from outside of the United States must apply for international admission into the undergraduate degree program.

Requirements

Benedictine University Mesa reviews applications holistically. All required documents must be submitted in order for an applicant’s file to be considered complete and for an admission review.

  • Students transferring into BenU Mesa's traditional undergraduate programs must have:
    • A minimum of 20 transferrable semester hours (If a student has fewer than 20 semester hours of transfer credit, freshman requirements apply)
    • No previous academic probation or academic dismissal
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or better from all colleges and universities previously attended.
  • If a student has completed less than 20 transferrable hours, an English language proficiency test would be required.
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score: 79 (iBT) 
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score: 6.5 overall Band Score

      *We will also accept an ACT Composite of 21 or the SAT Composite of 1060 in lieu of the TOEFL or IELTS. 
       
  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended.
  • Provide evidence of financial support showing you have a minimum of $36,200 per year to cover tuition and living expenses. An official bank statement or letter of financial support issued by a financial institution must be submitted.

A photocopy of your identification page in your passport (valid 6 months into the future).

Additional requirements for students transferring from colleges or universities (outside the United States) whose primary language of instruction is not in English: 

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 79 (iBT) or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall Band Score of 6.5.
  • We will also accept an ACT Composite of 21 or the SAT Composite of 1060 in lieu of the TOEFL or IELTS.
  • Foreign credit evaluations of your secondary school AND college/university records from Educational Credential Evaluators, Educational Perspectives, or World Education Services must be submitted.

Process

1.    Apply to Benedictine University Mesa

  • Apply Online using the Common Application
  • Submit $40 application fee
  • Contact Gianne Francisco, Admissions Counselor, at gfrancisco@ben.edu for more application information.

2.  Application Deadlines

  • It is strongly recommended that all required paperwork be submitted at least six (6) months in advance from the time you plan to enroll. To be guaranteed consideration for admission, ALL application material must be received by:
    • Fall Semester: July 1 
    • Spring Semester: November 15 

3.    Transcripts and Test Scores for International Students

  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended.
  • Submit official SAT, ACT, TOEFL, or IELTS scores (if required)
    • School Code for ACT: 1337
    • School Code for College Board: 1707

4.    Submit valid proof of financial support and passport information

*All official transcripts, score reports, and supporting documentation must be mailed directly to Benedictine University Mesa Admissions Department, 225 East Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85201.

Additional requirements if you are applying from within the United States as a transfer student: 

  • A photocopy of your 1-94 card in your passport or an electronic copy from the Department of Homeland Security.
  • A photocopy of the visa page in your passport
  • A photocopy of all prior l-20s
  • A letter or completed form of transfer eligibility from current Designated School Official (DSO)

Students will learn about the net steps in their admission's process

Campus Tour of BenU Mesa and downtown Mesa
Students and families will tour each of our buildings and take a ride on the light rail to get the full BenU Mesa student experience

Still Have Questions?
Students and families can visit with additional departments to get any last minute questions answered. Students may also pay their deposit and make an appointment to meet with their advisor to register for fall courses

Class Time
Students who signed up to shadow a class will need to meet in the main lobby of Gillett Hall to be escorted to their assigned classroom.

Challenges faced by the industry to provide care to those who cannot normally afford it.

FILM DESCRIPTION: 
Set against the backdrop of the physician shortage and opioid epidemic in rural America, The Providers folls three 'country doctors' in New Mexico at clinics offering care to all, regardless of ability to pay. As their personal struggles at times reflect those of their patients, the providers work to reach rural Americans who would otherwise be left without healthcare.
