Students have a variety of opportunities to get engaged, build campus life and enrich their own campus experience. Students can run for office with the Student Senate, serving as the voice of our student body while participating in leadership development opportunities. As a student senator, they can represent the concerns of students, encourage their spirit and serve to improve the University.
Among the activities sponsored by Student Senate is a bi-monthly community gathering known as Ben Hour. Ben Hour is designed to build a stronger sense of community by bringing together campus organizations, community leaders and BenU at Mesa students for socialization and discussion of the Benedictine Hallmarks.
Students can also participate in one of 13 intercollegiate sports – men’s and women’s volleyball, golf, cross country, soccer and basketball, baseball, softball or beach volleyball. Intramural sports are offered through the Office of Student Life and include team sports such as dodgeball, basketball and soccer, as well as individual competitions such as table tennis and chess.
Finally, a variety of social and academic clubs are organized on campus to provide opportunities to meet like-minded individuals, place what is learned in the classroom into action and serve the community.
Starting a new club is easy. Here is a list of our current clubs* along with the advisor you may contact for more information:
