Why study Entrepreneurship at Benedictine Mesa?

The Entrepreneurship major at Benedictine is designed to provide you with the essential theories, critical thinking skills and real-world knowledge necessary to support your launch into a career as entrepreneurs or intrapreneurs (agents for change within established organizations). The program gives you the knowledge and skills necessary to allow you to develop, market and manage your own business. You develop skills in market research, business plan development and evaluating business opportunities. Plus, our CO+HOOTS Institute for Entrepreneurship is the only program of its kind in the United States.

CO+HOOTS Institute for Entrepreneurship

In addition to providing students with the amazing opportunity to acquire skills and experience in creating and launching a business, the CO+HOOTS Institute for Entrepreneurship also prepares students to be stronger contributors to the workforce through development and practice of key career readiness competencies that employers across industries are looking for in recent college graduates, such as problem solving, oral communication, collaboration, leadership, and professionalism. Jose Ortiz, '22

"I’ve always had a passion for creativity and generating my own ideas. Benedictine Mesa was the perfect choice for me because the classes are all so hands-on, which caters to my learning experience while also challenging me in so many different ways. The classes that I am taking are interesting and the professors use innovative techniques to teach us what it really takes to start a business. I’ve already learned about presenting in front of other people, the basics of creating a business plan, marketing and the organizations of management. I am so excited for the CO+HOOTS Institute for Entrepreneurship. To be able to work with other entrepreneurs and build connections will help make my dream come true of owning my own fashion line one day.”
