Your donation makes an impact!
By directly supporting the museum, you are contributing to several ongoing museum initiatives. Your support matters deeply to us and we are truly grateful to all of our donors.
Your funding allows for paid undergraduate students to work with the museum to gain new skills. Our students work directly with the collections to build the online data portal and new collections database so we can better track and research our collection. Our students also create activities, educational resources, lead tours, and host museum events. They build real-world skills in event planning, public speaking, lesson planning, and leading group activities for all ages.
Your support also allows us to care for our collection. Although we have over 3,500 specimens on display, most of the collection is in storage. Much of our collection dates to the early 1900's, and was collected by Frs. Hilary and Edmund Jurica, O.S.B. We continue to diligently further their work and increase access to the collections. We have been upgrading the storage boxes, shelving, and manners of storage for the collection. With over 10,000 specimens in the collection, this is a massive undertaking. The supplies needed include acid-free and archival materials to carefully box or contain each specimen to best preserve and protect them.
We have many other ongoing projects as well as special projects that pop up along the way. We are able to adapt and serve our community through the continued support of donors like you. Thank you!
