Benedictine University junior center Tamika Curtis (Nazareth Academy) was named as the Northern Athletics Conference women's basketball "Player of the Week" for the period of January 8-14, 2007. It was Curtis' second-consecutive POTW accolade from the conference. Curtis helped the Eagles (10-4, 6-2 NAC) to a 2-1 record for the week, recording a pair of double-doubles in the process. Curtis opened up the week with 26 points and 16 rebounds, both game highs, in a 68-59 road loss to Wisconsin Lutheran College. Curtis then recorded her second double-double of the week tallying game-highs of 13 points and 17 rebounds in a 59-39 win over Clarke College. To finish up the week she shot 10-of-12 scoring 21 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in a 85-70 win over Maranatha. For the week, Curtis averaged 21.3 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game including 2.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per game on the defensive end. Curtis has eight double-doubles on the year. She has also scored in double figures in each of the Eagles' 14 contests.
