Benedictine's softball team suffered its first Northern Athletics Conference losses on Monday, dropping a doubleheader to Edgewood College. BU lost by scores of 4-0 and 5-2 to fall to 8-10 overall. In game one, Benedictine was held to four hits and nine batters struck out. Senior Melissa Kennedy took the loss, falling to 6-4 on the year. Kennedy gave up four earned runs, five hits and walked six batters. She registered four strikeouts. In the second game, freshman Lisa Rybak (2-6) took the loss for Benedictine. Rybak permitted nine hits - five of the extra-base variety - as she was charged with five runs (four earned). Rybak struck out four and walked one. Benedictine had five hits in the game. Lisa Hodges and Kennedy each had RBI doubles in the loss.
