Community residents can get gardening tips for fall from a professional landscaper and enjoy a complimentary lunch during Benedictine University’s “Lunch with Landscapers” from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m on Friday, October 19 on the second floor of the Krasa Student Center. Richard Hentschel, Extension Specialist, Green Industry Programming, Northeast Region Office of the University of Illinois Extension, will be the main presenter. He will discuss how gardeners can best prepare their backyard plants and flowers to survive the upcoming winter season. The University of Illinois Extension is the flagship outreach effort of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, offering educational programs to residents of all of Illinois’ 102 counties. The free event is sponsored by the Office of Campus Services at Benedictine University. Guests will receive a thank-you gift for attending and be eligible to win prizes.
