Romeoville student wins top honors from Benedictine's music department

Thomas Edward Sedlacek Jr., a senior music major from Romeoville, has been named the recipient of the Senior Performance award from the Department of Music at Benedictine University. Sedlacek, the son of Thomas and Bernadette Sedlacek and a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School, will be honored at the second annual awards and recognition dinner, “A Celebration of the Art of Music,” at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18 in the Krasa Student Center. Other award winners who will be honored are: Hema M. Sathia (Hanover Park), a 2002 graduate of Benedictine University, Distinguished Alumnus; Marc Stingley (Villa Park) and Stephen Million (Berwyn), Teacher Excellence; David Striker (Yorkville), Distinguished Honor; and University Trustee Rosemary Wisnosky (Naperville), Friend of the Arts. The cost of the dinner and awards program is $30. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Department of Music scholarship fund.
