Benedictine University's baseball team dropped a 6-0 non-conference decision at North Park University on Wednesday afternoon. The setback left the Eagles' overall record at 3-6 on the year. BU batters managed just four singles in the game, while striking out 13 times through the nine innings. Catcher Gino Miglio was 2-for-3 on the afternoon. Second baseman Kyle Rathbun and centerfielder Kenny Burdi each had one hit. BU starter Tommy Anselmo gave the Eagles a strong five innings, permitting the Vikings just three hits and no runs during his stint. Anselmo struck out seven and walked four, leaving with the score knotted at 0-0. However, in the seventh frame, NPU got to reliever Kip Simmerman - the first of an eventual six pitchers to follow Anselmo into the game - for three earned runs. The Vikings added three more in that big seventh inning for the final 6-0 score.
