Career workshop offers tips on proactive job search strategies

Human resource professionals and career counselors will offer tips for job seekers at “Developing Your Employment Toolbox” on Wednesday, September 30 in the Krasa Student Center on the campus of Benedictine University. The panel discussion is sponsored by Benedictine University’s Office of Career Development and Alumni Relations. Registration will be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Speed networking will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The panel discussion will begin at 7:00 p.m. Among the topics that will be discussed are: networking with professionals; marketing oneself effectively; proactive job search strategies; researching companies and organizations; making connections in your field of interest; and innovative resume writing and interviewing techniques. Pre-registration is available at www.ben.edu/employmenttoolbox. The deadline to pre-register is September 23. You can also pay on the day of the event.
