Lisle, Illinois ~ Benedictine University and Morton College have announced the details of a new Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Nursing 3+1 Program open to Morton students and alumni who have earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing.
Applications are currently being accepted for enrollment in this program.
“Benedictine University's B.S. in Nursing program is continually recognized by the Illinois Board of Higher Education for its rigorous academic quality and integrity,” said Donald B. Taylor, Ph.D., provost and vice president of Academic Affairs at Benedictine “It is also one of only two programs in the state that received grants from the Illinois Board of Higher Education for three consecutive years to expand the program to meet workforce needs in the Chicago region.
“Through this new partnership, we will continue to be able to make this stellar program more accessible to students of all ages,” Taylor added.
The entire program will be completed at Morton College’s main campus in Cicero.
“Morton College is very pleased to have entered into a 3+1 RN-to-B.S.N. partnership with Benedictine University,” said Dana Grove, Ph.D., president of Morton College. “The partnership is a tremendous opportunity for Morton College’s nursing graduates to build on the excellent foundation provided by the Morton College Nursing program.
“Morton, a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution, chose Benedictine University because of its well-known and highly respected nursing program,” Grove added. “The courses will be taught on Morton’s campus, allowing students to complete their baccalaureate degree in nursing at a familiar and convenient location as well as a reduced cost.”
Benedictine’s RN-to-B.S.N. completion program is specifically designed for the working nurse who is juggling multiple life priorities.
Benedictine also offers an online Master of Science in Nursing (M.S.N.) program.
Both Benedictine programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and Morton College’s nursing program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
