Lisle, Illinois ~ Benedictine University at Mesa recently completed a successful first year of operations and continues to fulfill its promise of bringing a Catholic and Benedictine values-based education to Southwest Arizona and beyond.
Nancy West Stoecker, compliance officer and director of Internal Audit at Benedictine's main campus in Lisle, has been charged with moving the University toward the future and sustained long-term success after being appointed vice president for operations of the Mesa branch campus.
"Nancy is an accomplished administrator and attorney with diverse professional experience at Benedictine and in corporate roles advising executive leadership and supporting administration and process efficiencies," said Charlie Gregory, executive vice president of Benedictine University.
"She has worked in collaboration with the University's provost, chief information officer, deans, faculty and other senior leaders to develop and integrate policies and compliance procedures," he added. "She is committed to serving the Benedictine community and our partners in the Mesa area, and brings a wealth of talent and knowledge with her."
Stoecker earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University.
"I believe strongly in the strength of a Catholic education," said Stoecker, who graduated from Catholic elementary and high schools and is a volunteer catechist in the religious education program at her parish. "I know firsthand what a difference a values-based education makes to students."
Benedictine University at Mesa is a branch campus of Benedictine University, which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education to operate an accredited, degree-granting institution of higher learning in Arizona.Applications are still being accepted for fall 2014 classes. Classes begin August 25.
