The spring semester is in full swing and the staff in the New Student Advising Center is hard at work. March and April is a busy time for students and staff at BenU.
Here are some of the highlights:
The Campus Ministry staff is excited to offer a new program this spring semester called the “Be Merciful Series.” Inspired by Pope Francis’ declaration of an “Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy,” this series of events will focus on each of the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about mercy and to both show and seek mercy in their lives. Some highlights include an evening with DuPagePads, a community prayer service and a “Stump-the-Monk” Q-and-A event.
The Holy Year of Mercy is a fantastic opportunity for our entire Benedictine community to grow in mercy and love.
April 3: Women’s soccer alumni game
April 10: Men’s soccer alumni game
May 8: Letterman’s Dinner (senior student-athlete banquet) at 5:00 p.m. and the Benny Awards (student-athlete end of the year awards banquet) at 7:00 p.m. in Goodwin Hall.
Finals week is quickly approaching which means students will be spending additional time studying in preparation. Some may seek out snack or comfort foods to sustain them as they work. If instead, you would like to send them a Finals Survival Care Package filled with full-size goodies along with a personal note of good wishes or encouragement written by you, please click here to learn more. With each $36 package purchased, not only will your student receive some tasty snacks, but $12 from each sale will go toward the Class of 2016 legacy gift fund to benefit the University community.
All orders must be received by Wednesday, April 27.
The packages will be available for student pickup in the Krasa Student Center on May 5, 6 and 9. We will contact each student recipient by phone or email with exact pickup information. For more information, please contact Jill Poskin at (630)829-6366 or email@example.com.
