Spring Break 2021

University Housing – Open for Spring Break

University Housing will remain open over the Spring & Easter Break, March 20-27 & April 1-5. You are welcome to remain on campus at no additional break stay housing cost. As spring break approaches, we ask you to remain committed to our community and Protecting Our Flock and refrain from any extensive non-essential travel.

Every resident must complete the Spring Break form by March 14, even if you plan to leave.

Testing Protocol

Residents staying on campus, the following applies:

  • Must continue to participate in our weekly Covid-19 Surveillance Testing Program with Loop Medical.

o   Campus testing days will remain the same: Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 8-11am.

Residents remaining on campus, but leaving campus for a period longer than 24hours, the following applies:

  • Schedule a Covid-19 test on the next testing day (Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8-11am).
  • Quarantine until a negative test result is received and limit travel to essential needs only. 

Residents leaving campus for break, the following applies:

  • Provide negative test results taken off campus within 3 days of return to
  • Schedule and arrange to test Monday, Wednesday AND Friday on return.
  • Quarantine at home or in a designated campus CareRoom (based on availability) until the 2nd negative test is received (off campus test plus on campus test, or two on campus tests if unable to produce an off campus test). 

Spring Break Departures – Checklist

If you are planning to leave for an extended period of time, be sure to follow the closing checklist and procedures to ensure the health and safety of your room and the community. Please complete the following:

  • Close and lock windows
  • Open blinds/curtains
  • Take out trash and perishable items
  • Take valuables
  • Remove all personal belongs from common areas (Founders’)
  • Disconnect everything, except for refrigerator
  • Turn off lights
  • Lock your door

Spring Break Programming

Whether you are planning to participate in athletics or plan to take advantage of some down time and recharge, we hope you will attend some planned programming events. There will be some programs for you to attend throughout the week geared to towards wellness, and a variety of fun, safe events to de-stress. A calendar of events will be posted soon.

Safety Precautions

  • Wear your lanyard on campus.
  • Keep your door locked at all times.
  • Be suspicious of unknown persons loitering around the residence hall.
  • Never prop or leave exterior doors to residence halls open.
  • Call University Police to answer any questions you may have regarding safety.
  • Abide by the guest and visitation policy currently set forth this semester. Click HERE for latest communication.

Dining Services

BenUeats  – You spoke, we listened! We are pleased to announce that Benny’s will be OPEN for service during spring break March 20-27. The Dining team is preparing and planning special menus and food options that includes themed nights and outdoor dining (weather permitting).  We thank the Dining team for this wonderful service as it has never been done in years past and hope that you will take advantage and leave the cooking to them!

Hours of operation during the break:

  • Lunch: 11AM–2:00PM
  • Dinner: 5PM–7PM

Please visit Benny’s as many times as you wish during open hours. More information regarding spring dining operations will be posted at by March 19.


Fitness Center

Fitness Center Reservations – The Fitness Center will be open from 10am-4pm, Monday through Friday the week of spring break. In order to utilize either area you must sign up in advance through Bookings. Reservation Links to signup are below. Full details of each area and expectations are posted under the Safety and Wellness Resources section here.

Time slots are currently being adjusted for the week of spring break will be made available in the coming days.



Resident Resources

Maintenance Requests - Submit a maintenance, work order request HERE. Facilities Management (FM), located on the first level of the Parking Garage structure and works behind the scenes, 24-hours a day, to serve Benedictine University. The office is open during the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. FM can be contacted at (630) 829-6420 for non-emergencies. If there is an emergency, call 911.

WiFi Support - Wifi Support is available to help 24/7 with any internet problem. Please contact Support at (844) 790-6935 or for any issue.

Mail Room – Office Services - Located in the Krasa Student Center, Room 123. The office is open during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. The mail room can be reached at (630) 829-6426. Additional information on services provided can be found online at

University Police Services – University Police are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week and can be contacted at (630) 829-6122. Whether you need an escort to your room or need to report suspicious activity, they want to support our students! If there is an emergency call 9-1-1.
