Through the advocacy work of Student Senate, Benedictine University has brought Greek Life to campus. Currently, Theta Phi Alpha Sorority and Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity are currently seeking members.
In determining Greek organizations for the Benedictine campus, Student Life considers the following:
- All Greek organizations must be affiliated with a nationally-recognized fraternal or panhellenic system.
- All approved organizations must be open to all students regardless of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation – regardless of their historical origins.
- All approved organizations must be consistent with the institution’s mission, Catholic and Benedictine identity, Student Life mission and values.
- Preference will be given to fraternal organizations with strong histories of promoting academic success of their membership, philanthropy/service and leadership development. Financial support of members and potential members with financial hardship will also be considered.
