Through the advocacy work of Student Senate, Benedictine University has committed to bringing Greek Life to campus for fall 2018. The Greek Life initiative will be part of the many programs and opportunities of the Student Activities and Leadership Development office.
In determining which Greek organizations may be appropriate for the Benedictine campus, Student Life will consider the following:
- All Greek organizations must be affiliated with a nationally-recognized fraternal or panhellenic system.
- All approved organizations must be open to all students regardless of race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation – regardless of their historical origins.
- All approved organizations must be consistent with the institution’s mission, Catholic and Benedictine identity, Student Life mission and values.
- Preference will be given to fraternal organizations with strong histories of promoting academic success of their membership, philanthropy/service and leadership development. Financial support of members and potential members with financial hardship will also be considered.
As more detailed information becomes available, this section of website will be updated. Interested students may also contact Daniel Turano, assistant director of Leadership Development at (630) 829-6620 or firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information.
